Ingredients
  • 50g dry yerba mate
  • 1 liter of hot (not boiling) water (about 75-80°C)
  • Optional: sugar, lemon, or mint leaves for flavoring
Instructions
  1. 1Fill a gourd or cup with yerba mate, about 2/3 full.
  2. 2Tilt the gourd slightly so that the yerba mate is positioned at an angle from one side.
  3. 3Introduce the bombilla (straw) into the yerba mate at the lower side, keeping it away from the hot water until you are ready to drink.
  4. 4Pour hot water into the space created by the tilt of the yerba mate, ensuring it does not touch the bombilla directly to avoid clogging it.
  5. 5Allow the yerba mate to steep for a few moments before drinking.
  6. 6Sip the yerba mate through the bombilla. You can refill the gourd with hot water multiple times until the yerba loses its flavor.
  7. 7Optionally, you can add sugar, lemon, or mint leaves to enhance the flavor.
