Ingredients
- 50g dry yerba mate
- 1 liter of hot (not boiling) water (about 75-80°C)
- Optional: sugar, lemon, or mint leaves for flavoring
Instructions
- 1Fill a gourd or cup with yerba mate, about 2/3 full.
- 2Tilt the gourd slightly so that the yerba mate is positioned at an angle from one side.
- 3Introduce the bombilla (straw) into the yerba mate at the lower side, keeping it away from the hot water until you are ready to drink.
- 4Pour hot water into the space created by the tilt of the yerba mate, ensuring it does not touch the bombilla directly to avoid clogging it.
- 5Allow the yerba mate to steep for a few moments before drinking.
- 6Sip the yerba mate through the bombilla. You can refill the gourd with hot water multiple times until the yerba loses its flavor.
- 7Optionally, you can add sugar, lemon, or mint leaves to enhance the flavor.
