Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon loose black tea leaves (or 2 black tea bags)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 cardamom pods, lightly crushed
- 3-4 whole cloves
- 2 teaspoons sugar (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
- 2 slices of lemon (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1In a saucepan, boil 2 cups of water over medium heat.
- 2Once boiling, add the cinnamon stick, crushed cardamom pods, and whole cloves. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes to allow the spices to release their flavors.
- 3Add the loose black tea leaves to the simmering spices, or place the tea bags in the pot. Let it steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer your tea.
- 4Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the tea into a teapot or individual cups, discarding the spices and tea leaves.
- 5If desired, stir in sugar to taste while the tea is still hot. You can adjust the sweetness according to your preference.
- 6Serve the tea hot, garnished with fresh mint leaves and a slice of lemon for added freshness.
